Great! You’re here. Go get a cup of coffee and let’s have a chat. I’ll wait. <HUMMING A HAPPY TUNE>
Hello, you. You are that lovely papercrafter who loves to make awesome homemade cards and blushes with secret glee when someone admires your beautiful creations. You also keep up-to-date on the trends in design, techniques and tools. In a word, you are PASSIONATE about your papercrafting.
But I know that sometimes you are also FRUSTRATED in your papercrafting. You look down in your trash bin and see multiple botched attempts lying there, more than your stock of successfully completed projects. I get it; me too.
You may or may not use Stampin’ Up! products currently, but you will see them being used here often. In either case, you are very WELCOME here. Whether you are looking for a spark to light your creativity, guidance in building and using a cohesive collection of supplies or help to advance your skill set to the next level, you have come to the right place. Hopefully you will like what you see.
Since you have read this far, you must be curious about what you can find on Stamp With Patti.
You are already full of great ideas, an artistic inclination and the desire to bring joy to your loved ones with your handmade creations. But sometimes you…
It is not important where you are in your creative journey, there is always room to grow. Maybe you just don’t always know how to take the next step to make your cards more eye-catching, your supplies more organized and your crafting time more efficient AND effective. Sometimes you just feel stuck in a rut.
Guess what? I have been there and I understand.
Here are the central beliefs at Stamp With Patti:
You want to make something beautiful and appreciated and I want to help you do that well. If I can help you find the perfect Stampin’ Up! products to assist you in this goal, terrific; but it is not my main purpose.
My name is Patti Olson and I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I am delighted to be an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. I sometimes say “uffda” and “ya betcha”, but mainly I am obsessed with papercrafting and love to teach and mentor people. Now that I am no longer working a 9 to 5 job (plus 2 hours a day in rush hour traffic – GAH) I figured the best way to do all the things I love is to create an online community of like-minded crafters. I hope you will join us.
Way back in the 80s, I started scrapbooking summer vacations and my daughter’s infant and toddler adventures. There weren’t many supplies to be had back then except for a few patterned papers and some stickers. But I fell in love with the craft and embraced all the changes and new products that became available in the ensuing years. At the same time I was working as a teacher and going to school at night for a graduate degree. Busy times.
In the early 90s I discovered Stampin’ Up! at a home party and bought my first stamp set. I loved adding this new (to me) technique to my repertoire, but still was looking for those rare moments of free time to explore my creativity as I moved from classes of children to teaching teachers. My career progression took me through public and private training and project management employers to a position where I was making and enforcing policy, stressful to me because it took me away from what I loved the most – teaching and helping others grow. So I took early retirement.
For the past four years, I have had the luxury of doing what I want, when I wanted, as often as I pleased. And what I did (and am doing) was CRAFT! I joined Stampin’ Up! as a hobbyist in 2014 and learned as much as I could about products and techniques. I made many mistakes along the way, but learned from them. Even today, I am still experimenting and learning. However, I missed the teaching. Luckily I was able to help out a few stampers I knew and decided I could help more people online, so that is what brings us here right now.
Looking around, you can easily see this website is a work in progress. Sidebars are still being developed, a pretty header is yet to be created, pages don’t quite work the way I want them to, blog posts are few and far between – and not all that well photographed in full disclosure.
I am passionate and committed to making this a great place of inspiration, learning and community where visitors are not just another blip on a counter but part of the site itself. Early joiners will have a significant say in what content they want to see, how they like it presented and how often they want to be contacted. For now, the plans include:
Stick with me and watch this adventure get off the ground.
So let’s get this GROWING – together!
For helping me with all this, Charter Members will have continuing privileges and the opportunity to weigh in on how things are going. I invite you to join my email community. By signing up (it’s free), you’ll get early access to all the free resources as they are developed as well as a special Charter Member discount on online courses I launch. I will even throw in a badge you can display on your own blog if you are so inclined to help a girl out.
Thanks for stopping by and reading this to the end. I appreciate it greatly and I can’t wait to get to know you better!
